On Gear.

While gear isn't everything, it is definitely important if we want to reach our full potential as photographers. Below is a list of my current gear, and a short explanation as to why I choose the gear I do.

Camera Setup:

Sony a6300

Sony a7rii

Why I choose this setup.

When it comes to the camera, the Sony a7rii is an obvious choice for a main body. As Sony's premiere mirrorless camera, it boasts a 42mp full-frame sensor which grants amazing bokeh and incredibly high image quality. It feels great in the hand, too. I've shot with other high end cameras, but this one seems to trump them all. The a6300 pairs perfectly with this as a second body, as it's speed and size cannot be matched.

Lens wise, these 4 lenses cover all of my bases. The Sony 55mm 1.8 and 85mm 1.4 lenses fantastic for portraiture without sacrificing too much versatility. The 24-70mm 2.8 is the most versatile at all, great for events and travel photography. The 35mm 1.2 with a close focus adaptor gives me soft vintage look, and a fairly wide field of view. I love this lens for street photography.
